Optimist cover and bag selection guide
| Selector style | Coverage / contents | Choose for |
|---|---|---|
| Travel Cover | Top/deck coverage without a mast opening, shown with the mast removed | Choose for the illustrated mast-down configuration; check all fittings and securing points. |
| Hull Cover | Underbody and hull-side coverage, secured across the top | This is a separate lower cover; the cockpit and deck remain open as shown. |
| Rudder Bag | Separate shaped rudder bag with handle and shoulder strap shown | Choose for the rudder profile shown; compare the angled outline. |
| Centerboard Bag | Separate long rectangular board bag with handle and shoulder strap shown | Choose for a centerboard; compare the length, width and opening. |
Choose Black, Blue-violet, Grey or Khaki. Select both the color and the required style; the styles are separate purchases rather than a complete set.
Dimensions shown in the gallery
| Reference | Metric dimensions | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Travel / hull cover images | 231 × 113cm / 90.9 × 44.5in | Metric boat-outline reference; compare the boat, not a bag. |
| Rudder Bag diagram | 75cm / 29.5in lower length; 70cm / 27.6in angled outline reference | Shaped bag: 70cm / 27.6in follows the slanted arrow, not a rectangular width. |
| Centerboard Bag diagram | 107 × 33cm / 42.1 × 13in | Illustrated bag outline; allow closure clearance. |
Dimensions are the references marked in the gallery, not a guarantee of clearance around every fitting or a measurement of usable internal bag space. Metric references are used here; confirm fit if your boat or equipment is close to a limit.
The cover images contain inconsistent inch conversions, so use the metric references above and confirm any tight fit. The rudder bag has an angled shape: do not treat its 70 cm slanted reference as the width of a rectangular bag. Rudder and centerboard bags are separate options; neither contains the foil itself.
Before ordering
Confirm the dinghy model, boat outline and any fittings or modifications against the photos. For a mast-opening cover, check the mast position and surrounding rigging. For a mast-down cover, check how any removed spars will be stored. Use the illustrated straps and fastening points, and confirm the securing arrangement for your intended storage or transport setup.
Only the selected cover or bag is supplied. Boat, mast, sails, trolley, trailer, foils and other displayed equipment are not included. The gallery identifies these as non-OEM covers.
